A lifeboat was called out to tow a fishing vessel back to harbour after it got into difficulty.
The coast guard in Buckie launched the boat to rescue the vessel, which was in difficulty after something got stuck in its propeller.
The boat was 10 miles east of Tarbat Ness when the coastguard was called, at around 9am this morning.
According to the coastguard, the boat was safely back at Buckie harbour at around 3.30pm.
The lifeboat and fishing vessel had to endure rough seas on the way back to land.
A spokesman for the Buckie lifeboat said: “Buckie lifeboat was launched at 9am to assist a fishing vessel with machinery failure
“The boat was travelling at 23nm North West of Buckie
“The vessel was safely towed back to harbour at 3.30pm.
“Weather was rough most of the way back making it uncomfortable run home with moderate to rough seas.”
