A North-east sports centre has threatened to ban any customers who illegally park in its disabled parking spaces.
Bosses at the Garioch Sports Centre in Inverurie have hit out at those who are “abusing” the spaces.
On Thursday, staff found three people had parked in disabled bays without displaying a badge
It meant a disabled user had been forced to park further away from the sports centre.
Now, in a bid to stop people from abusing its parking, the centre has threatened to ban anyone caught illegally in the disabled spaces from the facilities.
In an update given to customers, the centre’s management hit out at the “lazy customers”.
It stated: “We here at the Garioch Sports Centre are becoming increasingly frustrated and angered at the number of our users abusing our disabled badge holder spaces.
“This is a sports centre with users of all ages and abilities, and to see so many lazy customers not willing to find a proper space to come and use our facility is frankly shocking.
“On Thursday evening we found three non-badge holders parked in these spaces with a badge holder having to park in our lower car park because of this.
“We are now at the point as a centre that we will be suspending access to any users seen abusing this facility. It’s totally unacceptable.”
