A kidney cancer charity is set to hold an event for sufferers in Aberdeen.
Kidney Cancer UK will host its Living with Kidney Cancer day at the DoubleTree by Hilton, near the beach, on August 30, starting at 9.45am and running until 3.30pm.
The free event aims to help create a community around the disease, where those with a diagnosis can learn, share experiences and ask questions, as well as making sure they don’t feel isolated.
Karen McNee, principal of Kidney Cancer Scotland, said: “From previous years, this has always been an event where people are able to really get involved and communicate with other people in their situation, or who have experienced it.
“For many, this is hugely valuable as support can often be what divides the good days from the bad.
“I hope everyone who is interested can attend and make this another successful year.”
The first of two events lined up around the country this year, the day is designed to be as informal and relaxing as possible, to allow people to be comfortable speaking to others about their illness.
The next event is due to take place in Stirling on November 7.
