A popular fast food chain is in talks to open a new drive-thru in Aberdeen.
KFC today confirmed it is looking to create a new outlet on the city’s Hareness Road.
It would be the American firm’s third in the city, after Union Street and the Haudagain Retail Park.
Councillor for the area Sarah Duncan welcomed the plans, but cautioned that some in the community may be concerned about littering.
She said: “I noticed some chatter on Facebook about this and community feeling seems to be mixed about it.
“There are littering issues with Burger King on Souterhead Roundabout and some people feel there are several other fast food and cafe options in the area already.
“My own view is that local businesses which regenerate parts of the ward and provide local jobs are always welcome and the proposed site has been unused for some time, but the views of the local community should be taken into account.”
A KFC spokeswoman said: “Talks to develop a drive-thru restaurant at Hareness Road in Aberdeen are still in their early stages, but we hope to have some exciting news soon.
“Local KFC fans should watch this space!”
