A zoology graduate is celebrating after landing her dream job.
Jodie Stark, from Cove, has secured a role with a north-east environmental consultancy firm as a bat consultant.
The 22-year-old has already started with Envirocentre, based in Banchory, helping advise on the impact of building projects on the protected species.
As bats are one of her favourite animals she is delighted to get the role.
Jodie, who gained a 2.1 distinction, said her course was varied with lab and fieldwork available to students.
She said: “I did a lot of fieldwork myself and got to see a plenty of the brilliant countryside.
“It’s a very hands-on course where you can you gain a lot of experience and see the great wildlife we have.”
Jodie said after completing her three-year course the first thought that came to mind when going on stage to collect her degree was “don’t fall”.
Her parents and grandparents were in the crowd to watch her graduate yesterday at Elphinstone Hall.
Jodie added that the countryside in the north-east was the perfect location to help her get her degree.
She said: “Luckily I managed to score a job before I graduated.
“I’ve put the hard work in but I got quite lucky too and I think being enthusiastic has helped.
“You can go 10 minutes out of the city and walk along the cliffs and hills and it really is a fantastic spot of biodiversity.”
