20 new jobs will be created in a city community as a shop and a dental practice prepare to open.
The Co-operative has invested £500,000 in a new store in Peterculter, which is due to open on July 28. A dental practice is also expected to open on North Deeside Road.
David Black, store manager at the Co-op, said: “We are thrilled to have made such a significant investment in Peterculter and are delighted we have a fantastic new food store with which to serve the community – it is an exciting time for the whole team.
“The Co-operative is a community retailer and we are committed to playing an active role in local life, embracing the area’s community spirit.”
The new store will also include an in-store bakery range, Costa coffee, ATM and a focus on fresh food meal ideas and essentials.
Mr Black added: “We are proud to be one of the first stores in the UK to display our new Co-op logo and I am confident we will provide the community with everything needed to pick-up delicious food conveniently and create inspirational and tasty meals at home.”
The opening of the dental practice and the Co-op has created more parking in the village, which has been welcomed by the community council.
