An Aberdeen woman has told of her delight after winning a £3,000 home makeover.
The Evening Express teamed up with MTC windows and doors to give one lucky reader the amazing prize.
Jane Cowie, from Kincorth, was our lucky winner and couldn’t believe she had won.
The 58-year-old collected three tokens and rearranged the words to make the well-known phrase “home is where the heart is”.
Jane has lived in her house for more than 30 years and is looking forward to giving it a fresh new look with the help of MTC – with a new front door and screen along with other home alterations to her house.
She said: “It was a complete surprise to get the phone call.
“I have never won anything before, I was really shocked.
“When I got the call, my husband originally picked up and said it was the Evening Express on the phone – I had forgotten about the competition.
“He was standing beside me. “We were both surprised to win.”
Jane added: “I never thought I would win and it just shows you that you have to be in it to win it.”
MTC, which has been based in Aberdeen for more than 37 years, was delighted to meet Jane and go through the options for her prize.
The family-owned business has been improving people’s homes and lifestyles in the North-east by installing new windows and doors, sun lounges, conservatories and home extensions for decades.
The firm’s very first window installation dates back to 1980.
Raymond Charles, company director at MTC, said: “We were delighted with the response to our competition in the Evening Express and would like to congratulate Mrs Cowie on winning the prize.
“Mrs Cowie has chosen one of our high security doors as her prize and we are also carrying some other alterations to her house.”
