A disqualified Aberdeen driver with a “bad record” for road traffic offences has been locked up.
Ricky Davidson, 25, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for sentencing after he previously admitted driving while banned and without insurance.
The offences took place on July 25 this year on Hazlehead Avenue, Aberdeen.
His defence agent, Graham Morrison, told the court that Davidson’s partner had just given birth to their fourth child, and that he had previously been in employment.
Mr Morrison added: “He accepts he has been sliding off the rails.”
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin told Davidson there was “no alternative” to custody saying he had a “bad record” for driving offences.
Davidson, whose address was given in court papers as Gairsay Drive, Aberdeen, was handed eight months for the driving offences and a further two months for breaching a community order for a separate offence; the sentences will run consecutively – a total of 10 months.
Davidson was also banned from driving for six years.
