An investigation into an alleged sexual assault in Aberdeen has ceased after police established that no crime was committed.
The force confirmed that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding a reported incident in the Walker Road/Grampian Lane area of Torry during the early hours of Saturday are now complete.
Officers are no longer looking for anyone in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector Richie Guild, who led the enquiry, said: “We have conducted a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances and I appreciate that this reported incident has caused concern in the community.
“The co-operation and patience of the people who have been visited by our door to door and CCTV teams during the course of this investigation has been very much appreciated and I would like to express my thanks to them.”
