Investigation launched after dumper truck stolen from Aberdeenshire property

A dumper truck has been stolen from a property in the North-east.

The large vehicle and a trailer were taken from the Turriff area at around 1am this morning.

The Benford Terek dumper truck and I-for Williams trailer are worth around £5,000.

In a separate incident, tools worth more than £1,000 were taken from a secure outbuilding in the Fyvie area.

This incident happened between 8pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday.

Detective constable Richard Cooper, of the CID Proactive team based at Fraserburgh, said: “Thieves have been out in Aberdeenshire this week and so I want to warn home and business owners to be especially vigilant in terms of securing their property and vehicles.

“If anyone recalls seeing the Benford truck, trailer or indeed if anyone has been offered industrial tools for sale in the last day or so I would ask them to get in touch.”

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting references 0185 of September 13 for the truck, and reference 0958 of September 12 for the tools.
