Staff at a housing support service in Aberdeen have been praised.
Penumbra – Aberdeen Supported Living Service – is based on Back Wynd, Aberdeen and supports people to get housing, apply for benefits and meet their health needs.
Monitors from the Care Inspectorate watchdog visited the service on June 4 and have now published their inspection report.
They rated the service “very good” for care, support and staffing – the second best of six possible ratings.
When inspectors asked service users what they thought of Penumbra, one said: “The staff are very supportive,” while another said: “It’s useful knowing someone will visit me or that they are at the end of the phone.”
Other service users praised staff for their reliability.
The report added: “A wide range of information was provided to people using the service.
“The service was being proactive in considering how best to support people who may be difficult to engage with.
“Service users had a personal contingency plan in place.”
