Inspectors have praised leaders of a north-east school for making staff feel empowered.
Education Scotland monitors visited Hillside Primary School in Portlethen earlier this year and have now published their inspection report. They rated the school’s leadership as “good” – the third best of six possible ratings.
The report said: “The head teacher (Lesley-Anne Munro), has successfully brought together and enthused children, staff, parents and other stakeholders to form a new school with its own distinct identity.
“Staff feel empowered to suggest change and have been involved with development of the vision, values and aims of the school.”
