Workers at an Aberdeen nursery are compassionate and nurturing towards children, inspectors have said.

Monitors from the Care Inspectorate watchdog visited the nursery at Loirston School, Cove, on June 5 and have now published their inspection report.

They rated the nursery’s environment “adequate”, the fourth best of six possible ratings.

“Staff were nurturing and compassionate in their interactions with children, supporting children to feel secure and confident,” said the report.

It added: “The positive relationships staff had developed with parents enabled them to exchange information to support children’s wellbeing needs.

“Snacks were sociable experiences with opportunities for children to develop their independence skills through helping in the preparation.

“We looked at the snack menu and saw these provided nutritious options, supporting children to be healthy.”

One parent told inspectors: “My daughter loves attending the nursery.

“It is a great environment where they ensure plenty of outdoor play in all weathers.

“She has a great relationship with the staff and it is a huge bonus staff are consistent. We know who will be there and when.”
