Relationships between staff and children at a north-east nursery are “warm, trusting and welcoming”, inspectors have said.
Monitors from the Care Inspectorate watchdog visited the pre-school at Rosemount Primary School on Hospital Road, Montrose, on May 29 and have now published their inspection report.
“Rosemount nursery provided a very good service to children and families,” said the report.
It added: “The early years practitioners, support worker and apprentice worked together as a strong and effective team who were well supported and trusted by their managers. “They were skilled and knowledgeable.”
Inspectors awarded the pre-school an “excellent” rating for its environment – the best of six possible ratings – and “very good” for care and support – the second best rating.
The report said: “Relationships were warm, trusting and very welcoming.
“Children were encouraged to be independent and to support each other.
“Children were respected and their individual needs were recognised and met effectively.”
One parent told inspectors: “My child absolutely loves going to nursery. The staff know him exceedingly well.”
