An environmental charity has thanked the efforts of people across the north-east after hundreds took part in a call for action.
More than 200 people participated in the first month of Keep Scotland Beautiful’s clean up Scotland 2018 spring clean.
The charity has called for even more people to take part in rubbish picks as part of a bid to remove discarded litter.
Operations director at the organisation Carole Noble said: “With five weeks of our spring clean still to go, we’re really pleased to see an 18% increase since this time last year in the number of volunteers who have rolled up their sleeves to take part in cleaning up Scotland.”
From Aberdeen, 208 people took part in the event, and Carole said: “It is an unprecedented amount of support and demonstrates the level of public interest and appetite for action on littering and littering behaviour
“Now we want to capture this interest and springboard everyone to take even more action to tackle roadside litter during a week of action from May 12.”
