Hundreds of people flocked to the North-east after a farmer’s invitation to meet newborn lambs went viral.

Robbie Wilson expected a few dozen locals to show an interest in his work at North Dorlaithers, near Turriff, when he posted a message online offering a look inside his barns.

But over the weekend he spent more than 12 hours meeting and talking to families from across Aberdeenshire and further afield.

One woman even travelled from Lossiemouth to catch a glimpse of the creatures.

Youngster Lexi Cheyne, 3, was one of a number of children playing with the animals on Sunday.

Mum Leanne said the family travelled from Banff to visit.

She said: “It’s her first time seeing a lamb. She loves it.”

Mr Wilson now hopes to open the farm on an annual basis and help raise money for charities.

He said: “We’ve had about 400 people through the whole weekend and they’ve been so appreciative.

“I think we’d have to do something for charity next year.”
