Celebrations to mark the final year of an Aberdeen school have kicked off.
Torry Academy’s Year of Celebration on Saturday attracted more than 1,400 people.
Head teacher Jenny Cranna was delighted with the huge turnout and said everyone had a “whale of a time”.
She added: “It was a really successful day. Big Noise Torry opened the event and people came up to me and said ‘This will live in my memory’.”
The event took place on the school grounds and included craft stalls, car boot sales, bouncy castles, a Segway, barbecue and ice-cream.
Jenny said: “It’s been very nostalgic thinking back and seeing those who came out to celebrate with us.”
A calendar of events is due to be announced in the coming months with the school also appealing for former pupils and teachers to get in touch.
