Hundreds of people flocked to the opening of the Christmas Village as Aberdeen’s festive celebrations got under way.
Led by Aberdeen Inspired in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and Codona’s, a winter wonderland has been created in the city centre.
This year will see the addition of the Helter-Skelter and The Blizzard along with a variety of funfair rides.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the Aberdeen Christmas Village.
“It was a tremendous success last year and we are pleased to bring back an even larger event which creates a wonderfully festive heart in the city centre.”
The village, which saw more than 500,000 people visit last year, is open until January 8 and will serve food and festive drinks for all to enjoy.
Aberdeen City Council leader Councillor Jenny Laing said: “The Christmas Village is a very exciting feature of Aberdeen’s Winter Festival.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Aberdeen Inspired and Codona’s again to bring what is the biggest and best ever festive offering to the city.”
