PLANS have been lodged to flatten the site of a former city centre pub and build a 100-room hotel and offices.
Agents Archial NORR have submitted proposals for a 4/5 star hotel and spa on the site which housed the former Budz Bar.
The Justice Mill Lane nightspot has been empty since 2007 and was popular for offering 69p drinks to revellers.
The proposed site also comprises the former Aberdein Considine premises on Union Street.
Agents Archial NORR have submitted a detailed planning application to the city council on behalf of Status Properties Ltd.
The plans for the site include a bar and lounge with spa facilities.
The design statement for the application proposes fully retaining the street- facing block of both of these C-listed buildings.
Separate plans have been proposed for demolition including the former Budz Bar and the rear extension of the Aberdein Considine building.
A pre-consultation report by the agent, said: “The site offers a rare opportunity to create a landmark hotel in the heart of the city.
“This continues the on-going redevelopment of the west Union Street area.”
