An MP has welcomed an announcement that a new home has been found for a post office.
Residents in Kemnay launched a petition to retain the village’s post office earlier this year after it emerged it would be closed due to the postmaster’s resignation.
However, it has since been revealed that the post office will continue from the RS McColl shop in Aquithie Road, just a few minutes’ walk from the former site.

West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine MP Andrew Bowie said: “I very much welcome the news a new home has been found for the post office in Kemnay.
“I am sure local residents will be very pleased to hear they will be able to use the RS McColl shop in future.
“Thankfully people were not without this local service for too long.
“It’s important that post offices, high street banks and other local amenities are maintained wherever possible.”
