A woman who grew up in Aberdeen has become the first transgender actress to be nominated for the Scottish BAFTAs.
Hollyoaks soap star Annie Wallace, 51, has played Sally St Claire since October 2015 on the long-running Channel Four soap.
Annie, who went to Ashley Road and Aberdeen Grammar School, appeared in Shameless in 2011 as headmistress Miss Heller.
A spokeswoman for Annie Wallace’s management said: “We’re thrilled. Annie is doing so well – she’s just won Celebrity of the Year at the National Diversity Awards.
“We’re so pleased she’s becoming an ambassador for diversity in the arts.
“We’re chuffed to bits for her.”
The Scottish BAFTAs will be held on November 6.
