A businessman hopes to raise £5,000 in order to bring a mobile virtual reality unit to the city.
The idea of Siji Akinwale, the concept, called virtualrealiTEA (vT), aims to connect people over a shared virtual reality experience.
It has been previewed at the Vegan Festival and Aberdeen Soup.
Mr Akinwale said: “The concept of vT came about when I was trying to find ways to socialise with my gamer other half. I discovered a medium we could both operate without having to spend weeks learning it.
“This developed into a way to socialise with people and experience new heights together, or alone, the ultimate icebreaker.
“We are starting off as a mobile unit and will go to corporate parties, events and private functions.
“In the future we’ll open up our own venue, where we’ll incorporate different concepts to make the environment welcoming for all types of people, so they feel comfortable to experience what vT has to offer.”
A kickstarter appeal has also been launched to help get the project up and running.
Since being set up, it has already raised more than £600, however Mr Akinwale is hoping he can raise £5,000 to ensure the project is properly supported.
