A locomotive is on its way to Aberdeen today.
The Tornado is running “The Aberdonian Service” between Edinburgh and the Granite City.
It’s expected to arrive in Aberdeen this afternoon at around 2.45pm.

Beforehand, it will pass through Montrose, Stonehaven, Newtonhill and Portlethen where enthusiasts are expected to be out looking to catch a glimpse of the locomotive.

Here’s a rough timetable of when and where you’ll be able to see the Tornado today.
- Montrose – 1.55pm
- Laurencekirk – 2.07pm
- Stonehaven – 2.24pm
- Newtonhill – 2.30pm
- Portlethen – 2.32pm
- Aberdeen – 2.44pm
The service will be returning to Edinburgh this evening following a private, invitation-only event in Ferryhill.
