Christmas has come early to community groups and charities with a special panto ticket giveaway.
Aladdin will fly into His Majesty’s Theatre on his magic carpet this festive season.
Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA), which runs the venue, and the show’s producers Qdos Entertainment are inviting groups to apply for the 300 free tickets.
APA chief executive Jane Spiers said: “The HMT panto is a wonderful festive tradition for a lot of people, and for many children it is their first experience of live theatre.
“We would like to share that magical excitement with as many people as we can, and we are therefore delighted to continue with our annual tradition of offering tickets for the show to community groups who might not otherwise get to visit the theatre at Christmas.”
Charities and community groups are invited to apply using the application form on APA’s website.
The successful applicants will be allocated tickets to one of four panto performances on either Saturday, January 6 or Sunday, January 7.
Those who are selected for tickets will enjoy a trip to HMT to see the spectacular panto, starring Jimmy Osmond as Abanazer, Alan McHugh as Widow Twankey and Jordan Young as Aladdin.
The show is being staged by the same team that brought the production of Dick McWhittington last year, with lavish sets, fabulous costumes and an abundance of comedy.
Completed forms can be sent by e-mail to alice.mills @aberdeen performingarts.com, posted to Alice Mills, The Lemon Tree, 5 West North Street, Aberdeen, AB24 5AT, or dropped off at The Lemon Tree or HMT box offices.
Applications must be in before Monday, November 6, and marked FREE PANTO TICKETS.
