Aberdeen’s Christmas Village will open this Friday.
The city’s Christmas tree, a gift from twin city Stavanger, will be switched on at 7pm on Thursday.
And the Christmas Tree maze, in its first visit to Aberdeen, will open in Union Terrace Gardens on Friday alongside the Christmas Village.
The maze will remain open until Hogmanay, and the Christmas Village will remain open until Sunday, January 8.
This year’s village will feature a large open air ice rink, made from real ice, festive fairground rides – including the return of the bomber – and live music in the entertainment marquee.
Both the Christmas lights switch on parade and the Trinity Mall’s santa and reindeer parade will take place this Sunday.
Santa and his reindeer will be at the Castlegate from 12pm, with the Christmas lights parade due to start at 5.30pm.
