NHS Grampian is encouraging members of the public to nominate staff and volunteers at north-east hospitals for a national award.
The health board hopes that non-medical staff and volunteers who give their time to the various hospitals will be recognised in next year’s Unsung Hero Awards.
The aim of the accolades is to shine a light on the hard work that non-medical or volunteer staff carry out on a daily basis, and to acknowledge people who go above and beyond for their service.
It is thought their actions are often overlooked, despite making up almost half of the workforce at NHS Grampian.
A statement made by the health board said: “If you know of incredible employees or volunteers at NHS Grampian who have dedicated themselves tirelessly to patient care and deserve a national announcement of this commitment, you can do so by submitting nominations.”
To nominate someone as an Unsung Hero, visit www.unsungheroawards.com/entry-form by November 16.
All shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend a ceremony.
Winners will be announced at the Hilton in Manchester on March 1.
