Makers of a popular board game, set to feature everything great about the north-east, are calling on the public for help.

The bosses behind the design of the new Aberdeen Monopoly are consulting people in the city for suggestions on the “Chance” card.

When a player draws this card they are asked either to advance or to go back three spaces on the board.

Winning Moves UK, the firm which makes the world-famous game, is asking which area in Aberdeen should be the theme for the card.

The suggestion should be what Aberdonians consider as the “worst town centre traffic”. Leading the poll is the Haudagain roundabout followed closely by Market Street.

New version of Aberdeen Monopoly will honour everything great about north-east

The public has also suggested new tokens such as a seagull, a fishbox and an oil rig.

Polls have opened and will close at midnight at April 20.

The new version will be available in stores in October – just in time for Christmas.

The company will produce the new Aberdeen board under licence from Monopoly’s owners Hasbro.
