An Aberdeen sports centre has been saved from being mothballed after a new deal was struck.
The future was previously unclear for the Gordon Centre in Bridge of Don as it lay empty and its equipment unused.
But the venue has now been given a new lease of life, allowing a local gymnastics club to make full use of the facility.
A deal was negotiated between Sport Aberdeen and North East Scotland College to re-energise the sports venue.
The agreement has allowed Sport Aberdeen to lease the Corunna Road site.
The City of Aberdeen Gymnastics Club is now making use of the site after previously using the Beach Leisure Centre.
Registered charity Sport Aberdeen will also fill the schedule of the otherwise empty building with a range of services over the next few weeks.
Sport Aberdeen managing director Alistair Robertson met the head of Scottish Gymnastics, Euan Lowe, in Bridge of Don and both were pleased to see the centre in use.
One member of the Aberdeen Gymnastics Club, Kirsty Fowler, will compete at the Scottish Championship this year, and will train at the newly saved centre.
