North-east eateries and food producers have been served national awards.
A number of businesses in the region were honoured at the Food Awards Scotland.
The Crowne Plaza, Glasgow, played host to the black-tie celebration, which took place on Monday.
The awards celebrated the best in the Scottish food industry.
Based on a public vote, the accolades commend the talented individuals and businesses dedicated to delivering constant professionalism, top service and fantastic food to their customers.
Coming up trumps for the North-east was shortbread maker Dean’s of Huntly, which took ambient food manufacturer of the year.
And Thaikhun, a Thai chain restaurant in Union Square owned by the Chaophraya Thai Restaurant group, was named best oriental establishment. Its manager Parveen Sood was delighted with the recognition.
He said: “There’s a lot of competitors that have a good name in the market but this restaurant has been taken on board because of its uniqueness and it’s ambience. It’s very trendy.
“We already have things very well balanced.
“We have been recognised as one of the best.
“If you look at the TripAdvisor ratings, it’s one of the best restaurants in Aberdeen anyway. It’s good that we’ve been recognised by the food awards.
“It’s like our work, our vision, our customer and the feedback and hard work is being appreciated.”
Siobhan Ingram, brand manager for Dean’s Shortbread, said: “We are delighted to have won and we are always pleased when our brand gets recognition. We were up against some other great brands in our category so we were pleased to win.
“People love the story behind Dean’s where Helen Dean started baking the shortbread in her kitchen for the Huntly Pipeband where her husband was the Pipe Major.
“We are still using the same recipe from 40 years ago that Helen used. We have been in the North-east for over 41 years and we are one of many food manufacturers here that are flying the flag for Grampian.”
There were also a couple of regional award winners from the North-east.
Eastern Eye, an Indian takeaway based at the city’s Cornhill Shopping Centre Arcade in Aberdeen, took takeaway of the year north.
Thistle Catering Services in Ellon was given caterer of the year north.
