The SNP’s Eilidh Whiteford won the Banff and Buchan seat in 2015 with more than 60% of the vote and a formidable majority of 14,300.
But for the Conservatives the seat is one on their target list, buoyed by positive council elections result which saw Tories elected with the highest number of votes in every single Aberdeenshire seat.
The party is also hoping to capitalise on pro-Brexit feeling within fishing communities such as Peterhead and Fraserburgh.
The SNP are working hard to see Ms Whiteford re-elected to a seat the party has held since 1987 when former First Minister Alex Salmond was elected.
