Game of Thrones stars Rose Leslie and Kit Harington are set to marry in the north-east on June 23, the Evening Express can reveal today.
The couple’s wedding notice has been posted outside the registration office in Huntly, 15 miles from the Leslie family home, the 12th century Wardhill Castle.
Wedding notices are typically posted in the registrars’ office closest to where the ceremony will take place.
The notice in Huntly states Christopher Catesby Harington is to marry Rose Eleanor Arbuthnot Leslie on Saturday June 23.
It read: “The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”
Rose played housemaid Gwen Dawson in Downton Abbey and the wildling Ygritte in GoT between 2012 and 2014.
She went to primary school in Rayne before attending boarding school in England and then the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Londoner Harington has earned legions of fans as noble Jon Snow in the hit series.
He was photographed helping people park and pack their trees in the week running up to Christmas.
The north-east has been as hotbed of activity for Game of Thrones fans over the past few months.
In March, Mark Stanley – who plays Gren in the series – was pictured at a pub in Fraserburgh.
Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, was photographed in the Bobbin chatting to students while he was in Aberdeen for the university’s Christmas Concert.
The actor is an honorary graduate and former student at Aberdeen University.
