Four teenagers charged after fire at Aberdeen school

Four youths have been charged in relation to a fire at an Aberdeen school.

Police said three youngsters aged 15 and one aged 14 have been detained and will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit in connection with alleged wilful fireraising at Cordyce School in Riverview Drive, Dyce.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the building at around 11pm last night. Police Scotland officers also attended.

Detective Inspector David Howieson said: “The building has been extensively damaged and it goes without saying that this could have been a much more serious incident. Thankfully no one was injured.  We urge anyone who saw anything or has any knowledge which may assist our enquiries gets in touch with us on 101 quoting incident number 3979 of 13/11.”
