Community Policing Inspector Nick Thom said: “Antisocial behaviour and violence of any type will not be tolerated.
“A 15-year-old male required hospital treatment as a result of this incident and it goes without saying that the incident could have been far more serious without the quick thinking of members of the public and police.
“We are dedicated to working with our partners to put in place measures that prevent violent crime, harm and disorder from happening in the first place.
“The safety and well-being of individuals and communities is paramount and we are grateful for the support we receive from members of the public.
“We continue to urge anyone with concerns to get in touch with us on 101.”
