Forties pipeline restarted after overnight shutdown

Ineos has confirmed it has restarted its Forties Pipeline system after the second shutdown in recent months.

Last night the energy giant confirmed an issue with a feed control valve at its Kinneil facility in Grangemouth forced the closure of the huge pipeline.

Ineos, who bought the pipeline from BP last year, said in a statement: “The start-up of the Forties Pipeline System is now underway following the successful resolution of an issue yesterday with a feed control valve.
