FORMER staff of an old telephone exchange will meet up for a reunion – almost 30 years after they stopped working together.
The idea for the get-together began at the funeral of one of the workers of the now shut Aberdeen Central Telephone Exchange.
Past-colleagues started chatting about the good old days and the idea to get everyone in one place was sparked.
Liz Walker, of Tillydrone, said: “It’s just to see everybody, because everybody’s getting older we are losing people.
“I’m feeling very happy because it will be happening so soon now and a lot of the people who are going I’ve wanted to see for a long time.
The last time the workers were all together was when the exchange on Bon Accord Street shut in the late 1980s.
The bash – which expects to see around 50 people attend – will have a finger buffet, karaoke music and a raffle.
It takes place on Friday at the RUA Masonic Social Club, West Craibstone Street, between 7.30pm and midnight.
