Former North-east nightclub fails to sell at auction

The Drummers Bar and the upstairs Nemesis nightclub in Peterhead has been closed for almost a decade

A former North-east nightclub has failed to sell at auction.

The Drummers Bar and Nemesis nightclub on Marischal Street, Peterhead, were sold to a private buyer last year.

But they went back on the market again and were hoped to attract bids at an auction in a Glasgow hotel on Tuesday.

The guide price for the building was £240,000.

An advert for the property by Future Property Auctions, the firm handling the sale, said: “The ground floor may also be suitable for conversion to further retail space.

“It could be re-let as a public house and nightclub or restaurant, or converted to retail use subject to consents.”

The auction comes as the former Gala Bingo, which adjoins the nightclub, is put up for sale for the second time in a matter of months.

The property closed on January 3 after being sold, but it has returned to the market.

It is understood the owner wants to sell the property or let it out.

More than 350 people attended the last bingo session held last month.
