A flood alert has been issued for the North-east this afternoon.
SEPA issued the warning to coastal communities in the region due to the risk of flooding because of this afternoon’s high tide combined with a storm surge.
In a statement on its website SEPA said: “High tides combined with a storm surge are expected to affect coastlines in this area on Wednesday afternoon.
“Coastal communities may be affected by isolated flooding and wave overtopping.”
The agency is urging people to “remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.”
