DRIVERS are to face a five-mile diversion on a busy commuter route which is to close for two weeks.
Aberdeenshire Council today said they are to close part of the B9005 Ellon to Fyvie road at Kinharrachie for two weeks.
The closure will take place from Monday, August 17, forcing drivers to take a diversion of more than five miles to get back on to the road.
Diversions will be put in place via the B999 Pitmedden to Tarves road and the B9170 Ellon to Inverurie road. Motorists can also gain access back on to the B9005 by using the Bridge Of Ardlethen to Milton of Ardlethen road and the Raxton to Craigie road.
Access to the road will be provided for emergency vehicles, school transport and vehicles requiring access to properties.
