Four men and a woman have been charged after drugs were seized from a North-east town.
Officers from Police Scotland carried out a number of stop and searches in the town in a day of action by the force which saw drugs worth a street value of £1,200 take off Elgin’s streets.
The operation on Thursday saw valium, ecstasy tablets and cannabis all seized.
Four men and a woman have been charged and reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Constable Jad Leach, of Elgin Community Policing Team, said: “We are committed to targeting the illegal supply and use of drugs in the North-east and the associated anti-social behaviour.
“We rely on the community to do this and will act upon any concerns which are reported to us.
