Firefighters were called to an electrical substation in Aberdeen after a blaze broke out.
Crews were sent to the substation in Sheddocksley at around 9am with two pumps and one air foam unit.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “The fire was out on arrival and the incident was handed over to the SSE.”
A Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) spokeswoman said: “SSEN was alerted to a substation fault this morning in the Mastrick area of Aberdeen. The substation has been safely isolated while our engineers investigate the cause and restore supplies.
“890 customers lost power as a result of the fault and are currently being restored in stages, with all supplies expected to be restored by 1pm today.
“SSEN would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thanks its customers for their patience while our engineers work to safely restore their power supplies.”
