Fire breaks out at Aberdeen high-rise

A fire broke out today in a high-rise block of flats in Aberdeen.

Fire crews were called to Promenade Court in Seaton this afternoon.

Four people were led to safety by firefighters after the blaze broke out on the sixth floor.

Firefighters were alerted to the incident at 1.55pm.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We sent four pumps and one height appliance.

“It was under control by 2.25pm.

“It was a fire in a kitchen.”

Crews used equipment including breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.
