The deadline for entries for this year’s Evening Express Retailer Awards has been extended.
Local businesses now have until Sunday to enter the competition, which is now in its fourth year.
Evening Express editor Craig Walker said: “More businesses than ever entered last year’s awards and what shone through was the drive and determination to be the best they possibly could for their customers.”
The Retailer Awards recognise and support local as well as national businesses in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. The competition is a way of celebrating retailers who bring diversity to the north-east and play integral roles in local communities.
The Evening Express has once again teamed up with Aberdeen Inspired, which aims to revitalise the city centre for a long-term sustainable future, to honour hard-working retailers.
One of Aberdeen’s major shopping centres, Bon Accord, is set to support the Fashion Retailer of the Year category. And luxury boutique hotel Malmaison will back the Local Produce Retailer of the Year category, a new category to recognise retailers selling fresh local produce.
To be able to celebrate more retailers, the Hair and Beauty Retailer of the Year category was split into two categories including Beauty Salon of the Year and Hair Salon of the Year. Similarly, brand and independent hotels will be judged separately.
An exciting new “wildcard” category was also introduced. The winner, which can be any retailer operating in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, will be decided solely by customers. Voting for this category has also been extended.
Happy shoppers can vote on the Retailer Awards website (eeretailawards.co.uk) until Sunday. All categories are free to enter.
There will be 15 accolades up for grabs during the award ceremony, which will take place on Thursday November 8 at Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel.
