An appeal has been launched to trace a man who spoke to a four-year-old-girl in Aberdeen
The incident happened in the Bridge of Don area of the city on Tuesday.
The parents of the young girl contacted officers after she said a middle-aged man had approached her in the Valentine Drive area at around 6pm.
Police have said inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact nature of the conversation, and highlighted there is nothing to suggest “anything sinister was intended” but extra patrols have been carried out in the area “purely as a precaution”.
PC Stuart Hillman said: “We would obviously like to speak to this person to establish what was discussed and would therefore ask you to get in touch as soon as possible – the man is described as being middle-aged, tall and thin and was wearing blue clothes.
“A number of white delivery vans were also seen in the area around the time in question and we are trying to establish if this person is linked to any of these vehicles.
“Perhaps you are a delivery driver that was in the area at the time and have information which could help?
“I must stress that the youngster involved has not been hurt or affected in any way however her parents understandably felt that contacting the Police was the right thing to do as they didn’t know for sure what this person’s intentions were.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 3627 or March 26 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would like to help but would prefer to remain anonymous.”
