The events programme for Aberdeen’s ground-breaking street art festival has been announced.
Nuart Aberdeen, due to start in just three weeks, has revealed the list of talks, walking tours and film screenings which will take place around the festival’s painted walls and art installations.
The Nuart Plus programme, due to be held on April 19 and 20, already features Scottish art icon John Byrne, who will be taking part in an In Conversation event at the Belmont Filmhouse.
The city centre cinema will play host to a variety of events throughout Nuart Plus, including the exclusive screening of Imaginary City, a poetic visual essay which explores the history of the Nuart festival, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Kristina Borhes.
The popular walking tours will also return this year, giving visitors to the event a tour of all the art installations, with help from Nuart’s expert guides.

Criminology professor Jeff Farrell will be delivering the keynote address to bring the festival to a close, with the presentation due to be called Uncertain in the City.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We are delighted to announce the comprehensive range of talks, debates, workshops, screenings and much more that makes up the Nuart Aberdeen programme this year.
“Now in its third year, it has been incredible to see the impact Nuart Aberdeen continues to have on the city.
“It has truly captured the hearts and minds of the public and we hope to continue building on that success to further position Aberdeen as a destination of choice to visitors from near and far afield.
“From soaking up the atmosphere of Inspired Nights on the Green, taking part in walking tours, engaging in debate and enjoying exclusive film screenings, there is a lot for the public to get involved with.”
The launch event for the festival will be held at the Green on April 20, with the first ever partnership between Nuart and Aberdeen Inspired’s other city centre initiative Inspired Nights on the Green.
Licensed bars, food vendors and live music will herald the opening of the festival, along with artistic workshops for children.
