A North-east charity has announced that entries to their annual race are open.
Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, based in Oldmeldrum, has opened registrations for the annual Barra 10k race.
The run, set for May 26, will consist of 2k on road then 3k cross country, followed by a further 5k on road.
The start and finish is at Oldmeldrum Academy, leading on to the fields at the foot of the Barra Hill.
The climb to the summit of Barra Hill is about 1km, before the route takes runners on to the Bourtie Road for a fast, downhill second half road section before winding its way back into Oldmeldrum.
Registration for the event, which will begin at 10.45am, costs £20 and can be made online at http://bit.ly/2nDlGDR
The inaugural 10k race in 2016 raised £15,000, and both events have attracted 300 entrants.
The charity, founded by Jonathan and Anna Cordiner, was started in 2012 after the death of their two-year-old daughter Kayleigh from an atypical teratoid rhaboid tumour, a type of terminal brain cancer.
Money raised helps families across the country living with a terminal illness.
