A north-east council is expected to approve a community asset transfer for a surplus building.
The Formartine area committee has been asked to give the go-ahead for the Ellon Baptist Church to be given ownership of the Ythan Centre.
Formerly used by Aberdeenshire Council workers, the building has been declared surplus to requirements.
A report to councillors on the committee says: “The Ythan Centre was previously occupied by Aberdeenshire Council’s community, learning and development (CLD) service.
“The building has lain vacant and unoccupied since February 2016.
“(The church’s) intended use for the building is primarily as a community and religious hub providing events, educational resources, classes and workshops to local residents.”
The Formartine area committee will meet tomorrow at the Kirk Centre in Ellon.
