Emergency services called after van overturns on North-east road

A man has been taken to hospital after his van overturned on a North-east road.

The man, who is in his 60s, was driving a white Transit van at 8.15am today when the crash took place on the B999, at Newton of Muirton.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “There’s an overturned white transit van on the B999, at Newton of Muirton, near Whitecairns.

“The male driver is out of the vehicle.

“Police are on scene waiting for the vehicle to be recovered.”

The road is blocked, causing traffic disruption.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 8.19am today to attend a road traffic collision on the B999.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one male patient in his 60s was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

Bus services are currently being diverted while emergency services are at the scene.
