Emergency repairs are being carried out after a water main burst on a major Aberdeen road.

Scottish Water engineers are carrying out repairs in the AB15 area of the city at North Deeside Road between Bieldside and Milltimber.

A spokesman for Scottish Water said: “Engineers are currently on site, responding to a burst water main on North Deeside Road, close to its junction with Old Ferry Road.

“Our team has isolated the affected section of main and is in the process of re-routing water through other parts of our network to restore supply to around 25 customers currently affected.

“Repair work on the damaged main will be carried out this evening once supply restoration is complete and after the busiest time for traffic.

“We would like to apologise to customers and road users who have experienced disruption this evening and thank them for their patience while our team works to restore normal service as quickly as possible.”

A statement on Scottish Water’s website estimated the repair would be complete by around 7.30pm.
