The north-east’s own Emeli Sande is to headline one of the biggest youth events in the country.
The Alford-raised Brit winner will perform a special acoustic set at Perth Concert Hall for the Youth and Philanthropy Initative (YPI).
More than 1,000 youngsters who have secured thousands of pounds for charitable causes will attend.
Hundreds of schools participate every year, with classes encouraged to identify issues and pitch for £3,000 to tackle them.
Emeli said: “It is an honour to be invited to attend and perform at the YPI 10th anniversary event and to share the room with so many inspiring young people making a difference in their communities.
“I’m looking forward to hearing about the journey of YPI and the great platform it provides to empower young people and equip them with the skills, attitude and outlook needed to thrive and contribute in the 21st Century.”
Comedian Anna Devitt will take to the stage as well as singer-songwriter Callum Beattie.
YPI is run by The Wood Foundation and chairman Sir Ian Wood said: “We are honoured that Emeli Sande will join us as we mark the accomplishments of a decade of YPI here in Scotland.”
