The daughter of a Gordon Highlander has celebrated becoming a centenarian.
Elsie Carr, who has spent much of her life in Aberdeen, was surrounded by friends and family at the Lethen Park Residential Home in Portlethen to mark the occasion this week.
The mum-of-four, grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 11, was joined by her daughter Dorothy and eldest son Stephen.
Retired building contractor Dorothy, said her mum’s milestone is a proud day for the whole family.
She said: “Mum always said she’d live to 100, so it’s fantastic.
“My other siblings, Alison and Allan, live overseas – one in Australia and the other in America – so we made sure to have photos and cards from them to make it feel like they were a part of mum’s big day.
“We celebrated with a cake and cards in the morning and the staff put on a party in the afternoon.”
